Who runs it
Conservera Galván has stood on Barbate harbour since 1957. Two brothers in their seventies run it and none of their children wants to carry on. Their niece Lidia, who is twenty-nine, runs the packing line.

What we would do
If it joins @seis, Lidia would take charge with a salary and a share. We would swap the diesel vats for electric ones and put solar panels on the building. The tuna would keep coming from the same almadraba.

What it gives now
Every season it cooks around 46,000 kilos of almadraba bluefin. Manolo Ruiz brings it in after thirty years of setting the nets off this coast. It goes into tins with olive oil and Barbate on the label.
