Six rules you can check.

An older farmer and a young woman look at an invoice at the kitchen table

We pay the producer at 30 days.

The usual in this trade is 90 or 120 days. Thirty is what it takes for an invoice to arrive and be paid without rushing. If we are ever late one month, we will put it here.

Handwritten price label on the edge of a shelf

We publish where every euro goes.

Every product page shows the split: what the maker gets, the transport, us and the shop. If the numbers do not add up for you, ask us.

A woman with an umbrella walks into a neighbourhood shop in the rain

Your local shop comes first.

If one of our shops is ten minutes away, don't buy it from us. Go and see them. They win, your street wins and you save the delivery.

A goods train crosses a snowy plain in winter

Nothing travels by air.

Lorry, ship and train. From the Canary Islands, by ship. It takes longer and we know it.

Hands wrap a jar in kraft paper and put it in a cardboard box

No plastic where we can avoid it.

Cardboard, paper, glass and tin. Sliced ham comes in plastic because there is no other way for it to travel well, and its page says so.

Mother and son work side by side filling jars in a small family workshop

We pick people who do things well, big or small.

Some make a thousand bottles a year. That is fine by us. If they grow tomorrow, good for them, but we do not ask them to.
