Los Cabezos
Alcañiz, Bajo Aragón
Los Cabezos belonged to a family company set up by four cousins that was wound up in 2023 after they went to court against each other. From then on a contractor worked it by the hour. Pruning was done where it showed and watering happened when someone was free.
We are rebuilding the five irrigation sectors and the pond, which here has to cover seventy days. We have opened up the rows so the big machine can get in and cleared the headlands so it can turn. The 8,740 trees have been under renewal pruning since last winter.
Last season, still under the old management, gave 186,200 kilos. A well-run hectare here gives a third more. That is why we bought it.

The oil from this farm
We do not bottle its oil yet
The farm is having its irrigation rebuilt and its trees cut back. Its olives are sold in bulk until the grove gives the quality the brand asks for.
