Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026

This Cookie Policy describes how FORGELAB DIGITAL PRODUCTS, S.L. (hereinafter, "FORGELAB", "the Company", "we", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the website atseis.comand the atseis (also stylized as @seis) online multiplayer small and medium-sized business simulation game (hereinafter, "the Service").

This policy is drafted in compliance with Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), as amended by Royal Decree-Law 13/2012, Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive) as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC, and the guidelines issued by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) on the use of cookies.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be classified by several criteria:

  • By ownership: First-party cookies (set by the website being visited) or third-party cookies (set by a domain other than the one being visited).
  • By duration: Session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (remain on the device for a set period or until manually deleted).
  • By purpose: Strictly necessary (essential for the website to function), preferences (remember user choices), analytics (collect usage statistics), or advertising (track users across websites for advertising purposes).

2. Cookies Used by atseis

atseis uses one strictly necessary first-party cookie for authentication and, subject to your consent, third-party analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (GA4). The following table provides complete details:

Cookie NameTypeDurationPurpose
tokenFirst-party, strictly necessary7 days (persistent)Authentication. Contains a JSON Web Token (JWT) that identifies your session. This cookie is set with the httpOnly flag (cannot be accessed by client-side JavaScript), the Secure flag (transmitted only over HTTPS), and the SameSite=Lax attribute (mitigates cross-site request forgery). It is essential for logging in and maintaining your authenticated session.
_gaThird-party (Google), analytics — consent required2 yearsGoogle Analytics 4. Used to distinguish unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated client identifier. Only set after you accept analytics cookies through the consent banner.
_ga_<ID>Third-party (Google), analytics — consent required2 yearsGoogle Analytics 4 session cookie, specific to this property. Used to persist session state. Only set after you accept analytics cookies through the consent banner.

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use

For the avoidance of doubt, atseis does not use any of the following types of cookies or similar tracking technologies:

  • Advertising cookies: We do not use cookies for advertising, remarketing, retargeting, or behavioral profiling. We do not participate in any advertising network. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymisation and without Google Ads features.
  • Social media or third-party widgets: We do not embed Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, social media plugins, or chat services that set their own cookies.
  • Preference cookies: We do not use cookies to store user preferences (language, theme, etc.). Any preferences are stored server-side in your account data.
  • Fingerprinting: We do not use browser fingerprinting or any device identification technique as a substitute for cookies.

4. Consent

In accordance with Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE and the guidelines issued by the AEPD, strictly necessary cookies (also referred to as "technical cookies" or "exempt cookies") do not require the User's prior consent. The authentication cookie described above is set without consent as it is essential to provide the Service explicitly requested by the User.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are not strictly necessary and therefore require your prior, informed, and explicit consent. When you first visit the website, a consent banner is shown offering you the choice to accept or reject analytics cookies.

We use Google Consent Mode v2. This means the Google Analytics tag loads in a denied state by default: no analytics or advertising cookies are set, and no personal data is sent to Google until you grant consent through the banner. If you accept, analytics cookies are set and pseudonymous usage data is sent to Google. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set and no identifiable data is collected. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for atseis.com.

5. How to Manage Cookies

Although the authentication cookie used by atseis is strictly necessary and exempt from consent requirements, you retain full control over the cookies stored on your device. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Instructions for managing cookies in the most common browsers:

Please note that if you block or delete the authentication cookie, you will be unable to log in to your atseis account or maintain an authenticated session. You will need to log in again once cookies are re-enabled.

6. Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, websites may use other storage mechanisms such as localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB. atseis uses localStorage to store your cookie consent decision (key: cookie_consent) so that the banner is not shown again on subsequent visits. This value is a simple flag (accepted/rejected) and does not contain personal data or tracking identifiers. It is not transmitted to our servers.

7. Google Analytics — International Data Transfers

Google Analytics is a service provided by Google LLC (United States) and Google Ireland Limited (European Union). When you accept analytics cookies, pseudonymous usage data (page views, events, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser information) may be transferred to servers operated by Google in the United States and other countries. Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses as legal bases for such transfers.

We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation, no Google Ads integrations, and no cross-site advertising features. You can learn more about how Google processes data in its Privacy Policy and you can opt out globally using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy

FORGELAB reserves the right to modify this Cookie Policy at any time, particularly if new cookies or tracking technologies are introduced. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If non-essential cookies are introduced, an appropriate consent mechanism will be implemented prior to their deployment.
