Season one: tomatoes where it counts, wheat where it makes sense, two upgrades already underway
With 14.6 hectares and only 19 water units available, the priority this season was clear: tomatoes, which consume three times more water than wheat, go exclusively on the four highest-quality plots, where every litre and every euro of input earns its keep. The other four plots carry wheat, a hardier and far more water-efficient crop that keeps revenue flowing without stretching our water budget to the breaking point.
Two infrastructure projects are already underway. Drip irrigation will cut water consumption by 30% from season three onward, eliminating water stress entirely and opening the door to IoT precision sensors the season after. A farm shop will begin generating direct-sales income as soon as next season. A warehouse rounds out this first wave of investment, laying the groundwork for cold storage down the road. We are building something durable here, and we are glad to have you following along.
