Tierra de Campos Grain Farm

Tierra de Campos has a reputation for being harsh and honest, and this farm is a true reflection of that. There are no shortcuts here: wheat has been grown in this region for centuries, and we continue that tradition but with today's tools, without giving up the organic certification that sets us apart and protects us long term.

We adopted the cooperative model because we believe in the strength of selling together, negotiating better, sharing risks and rewards with other producers in the area. It has been a path of trial and adjustment, testing which combination of crops and investment levels gave us the best result without compromising soil quality or certification.

Today, thirteen seasons later, we have a model that works: wheat and sunflower as the backbone, tomato as a profitable complement, and a way of working that prioritizes solidity over fast, risky growth.

Right now we cannot expand the cultivated area, the plots available in the region are not the ones we are looking for yet, so our strategy is clear: get the most out of the 220 hectares we already have. That is why our next big move is building a vertical farm, a way to multiply productive efficiency without needing a single extra square meter of land.

This lets us protect margins in a context where costs keep rising, betting on technology that yields more with the same resources. We will keep organic certification and insurance as pillars of stability, because we would rather grow slowly and safely than risk the reputation we have built with the cooperative.

And as soon as good new plots become available, we will be there to expand again, always matching investment to the real quality of each piece of land. In the meantime, our energy is focused on doing more with what we already have, and doing it well.
